Serving the Lord in a small church is indeed a challenge. We do not have a professional staff to attend to your every need. We depend on the members to use their gifts, abilities and talents to meet the needs of their assembly. Many of our members are senior saints. They use their gifts and talents to help and they have the wisdom of years of experience.
A small church that desires to grow, requires people with a pioneering spirit. People that are looking for a church with all the right age groups, classes or social contacts will usually be disappointed in a small church at first. But those that are willing to get involved and work as pioneers, in helping to build a ministry, will find it very rewarding. Perhaps you are willing, if God leads you, to be a pioneer at the Huntsville Bible Baptist Church.

People today are used to churches being members of councils, conventions or associations. Such was not always the case. In Bible times churches were independent and were often simply called by their location. People would say, "The church at..." then follow with the location. We are an independent Baptist church which simply means that we are not affiliated with any world or national councils or conventions. As an independent church we are completely self- governing. As a Bible Baptist church we preach, teach and counsel from the Bible. We believe the Bible is God's Word. We believe that God in His Word (His Son is revealed to us in His Word) equips us with every spiritual need to live a peaceful and godly life in this world (2 Pet. 1:1-12). We try to preach and teach the Bible so that the wonderful truth of His Word can be applied to our daily lives. A biblically independent church is one that stands for the historic fundamentals of the faith, upholding biblical authority versus human theories.
To be fundamentally biblical means to believe in and proclaim beliefs such as:
1. The verbal plenary, inerrant inspiration of the Bible (we believe the Word of God is accurately preserved in the manuscripts from which we get the King James Version).
2. The virgin birth, absolute deity and sinless life of Jesus Christ.
3. The death, burial, and resurrection of Christ to provide salvation for all that will come.
4. The Person and work of the Holy Spirit.
5. The reality of Satan and his destructive work today.
6. The personal and bodily return of Jesus Christ(we are pretribulational and premillennial with respect to future events).
7. Seven literal 24 hour days of creation as per Genesis (we reject the false theory of evolution and theistic evolution).
8. A literal heaven and hell / lake of fire as described in God’s Word.
9. Marriage is to be only between a man and a woman as ordained by God.
Music
We affirm that Christian music is essentially God-centered. While the Bible does direct some music to the unsaved, Christian music has the ultimate goal and purpose of praising and glorifying God for His people. We deny that Christian music should place an emphasis upon man and his perceived needs and desires. Furthermore, we deny that Christian music should focus upon the performance of the musician or singer; hence we reject applauding and any other acts that place the focus upon them. Anything which calls undue attention to the performer(s), such as excessive, affected bodily movement or inappropriate dress, should find no place in Christian music and worship. The primary objective in the performance of all sacred music should be to exalt Christ rather than to exalt the musician or to provide entertainment.
In the area of vocal music, special attention should be given to insure that the text is appropriate to a godly testimony. This includes both content and literary style (Col. 3:16; Eph. 4:29, 5:4).
Performance techniques should reinforce the message of the song and should avoid sensuality or the glorification of the performer (I Cor. 1:31).
We maintain that the music styles of rock, rap, country & western, new age, and jazz are inappropriate for Christian music to be used in our church. Therefore we deem as inappropriate as any "Christian" music that borrows these styles (I John 2:15;) for use in our church.
Songs or styles which are strongly identified with unbiblical movements or worldly practices should be avoided (Rom. 12:1-2). We do not wish to lead worshippers toward music which is questionable or which might violate believers' consciences. However, we do wish to "follow after the things which make for peace and things wherewith one may edify another" (Rom. 14:15-19).
Youth Ministry
Concerning the rearing of children the Bible says: "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it"(Proverbs 22:6). This same principle is directed specifically to fathers in Eph 6:4: "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." In our Bible teaching, and by example, we hope to help parents in their God-given responsibility by addressing every realm whereby a child needs to be on the increase--spiritual, mental, physical, and social. We believe that the Bible sufficiently addresses these realms. "According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue" 2 Peter 1:3.
